The National Apprenticeship Programme (NAP) is a Government of Ghana initiative designed to address youth unemployment, bridge skills gaps, and equip young people with industry-relevant technical, vocational, and entrepreneurial skills.
Implemented by the National Youth Authority (NYA), the programme combines classroom-based learning with hands-on workplace training to prepare young people for employment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable livelihoods across priority sectors.
ASH Africa’s Role
As a partner in the National Apprenticeship Programme, ASH Africa supports the delivery of the initiative’s classroom-based learning component.
Through structured training sessions, ASH Africa equips participants with foundational technical knowledge, entrepreneurial skills, and workplace-readiness competencies that complement their practical apprenticeship experience.
Our contribution focuses on ensuring young people are not only trained in their chosen fields but are also prepared to apply their skills, create opportunities, and build sustainable economic pathways.
